Opening of the 23rd International Exhibition Mebel’2011
On November 21 Expocentre hosted the opening of the 23rd International Exhibition Mebel’2011 which is the largest professional exhibition not only in Russia, but in Eastern Europe as well.
For many years now the Mebel exhibition has been carrying the logos of UFI- the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry- and RUEF- the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.
The Mebel show is progressing steadily. This year the exhibition welcomes over 800 exhibitors from 36 countries. The number of Russian participants is growing year by year.
As Deputy Director General of Expocentre Anatoliy V.Sobolev said at the exhibition official opening ceremony, that year the Mebel’2011 exposition occupied all pavilions and halls of Expocentre Fairgrounds with the area of 90 thousand sq. m, including 2,5 thousand sq. m of newly opened exhibition areas.
Exhibition Mebel’2011 attracted great interest of government institutions and professional community. The show is held with the support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Moscow City Government.
On behalf of the RF CCI Vladimir P. Strashko, the RF CCI Vice-President, welcomed the exhibition participants. Patronizing the exhibition, the Chamber considers the Mebel show as a component of social programs realized in our country.
Valeriy A. Prilipov, Deputy Director of the Forestry and Light Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, congratulated the Mebel’2011 participants and visitors on the exhibition opening. Mr. Prilipov said that the Mebel exhibition had become the most representative industry show displaying the Russian furniture industry potential.
Participation in the main industry show Mebel’2011, its rich business-related program will contribute to increasing competitiveness of domestic furniture manufacturers, increasing the industry export potential.
The high international rating of the Mebel’2011 show is confirmed by the leading foreign furniture manufacturers’ participating in the exhibition. This year 12 countries showcase their national displays. Companies from Serbia participate in the exhibition at the state level for the first time. State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia Goran Petkovich expressed his confidence that the national display at the International Exhibition Mebel’2011 would contribute to further development of business, cooperation among Russian and Serbian companies, and trade and economic relations of two countries as a whole.
President of the Association of Furniture Manufacturing and Woodworking Enterprises, Valentin I. Zverev highlighted Russian furniture manufacturers’ participation growth as the main progress of the exhibition which had become the leading industry brand. At the exhibition visitors can estimate the Russian furniture industry developing progress.
At the exhibition opening ceremony General Director of Centrlesexpo, Vice-President of the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia Timur R. Irtuganov and act. Director General of Centromebel Boris M. Smirnov wished successful work to the biggest industry exhibition Mebel’2011 and successful business to its participants.
